The Era of the Speech Police has started! Obama kicks media off plane!

From the Drudge Report:

PURGE: SKEPTICAL REPORTERS TOSSED OFF OBAMA PLANE
Fri Oct 31 2008 08:39:55 ET

NY POST, DALLAS MORNING NEWS, WASHINGTON TIMES TOLD TO GET OUTALL 3 ENDORSED MCCAIN

Exclusive

The Obama campaign has decided to heave out three newspapers from its plane for the final days of its blitz across battleground states—and all three endorsed Sen. John McCain for president!

The NY POST, WASHINGTON TIMES and DALLAS MORNING NEWS have all been told to move out by Sunday to make room for network bigwigs—and possibly for the inclusion of reporters from two black magazines, ESSENCE and JET, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Despite pleas from top editors of the three newspapers that have covered the campaign for months at extraordinary cost, the Obama campaign says their reporters and possibly others will have to vacate their coveted seats so more power players can document the final days of Sen. Barack Obama’s historic campaign to become the first black American president.

MORE

Some told the DRUDGE REPORT that the reporters are being ousted to bring on documentary film-makers to record the final days; others expect to see on board more sympathetic members of the media, including the NY TIMES’ Maureen Dowd, who once complained that she was barred from McCain’s Straight Talk Express airplane.

After a week of quiet but desperate behind the scenes negotiations, the reporters of the three papers heard last night that they were definitely off for the final swing. They are already planning how to cover the final days by flying commercial or driving from event to event.

2 arrested for hanging Obama effigy on Ky. campus

Posted by "Pat Buchanan, Jr." on October 30, 2008 at 10:18 PM

Less than 24 hours after my last post, about what would happen to someone who hung Obama in effigy after some kooks in West Hollywood did this to Gov. Palin….yes, just what I suspected would happen: Those college kids who did this to Obama were ARRESTED!!! Wow, blantant political correctness. I hope your college kids don’t go to school where Big Brother allows the Thought Police and Speech Police to reside. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

2 arrested for hanging Obama effigy on Ky. campus

A University of Kentucky student and another man were arrested Thursday, accused of hanging a life-sized likeness of Barack Obama from a tree on the campus.

The incident was one of several in recent weeks involving effigies of the presidential candidates or their running mates. No charges have been filed in four other cases that have made national headlines.

UK Interim Police Chief Joe Monroe said the men “expressed remorse for a stunt that had gotten out of hand.”

Arrested were Joe Fischer, 22, a UK student, and Hunter Bush, 21, both of Lexington. Both were being held at Fayette County Detention Center on charges of disorderly conduct related to the hanging of the effigy. They were also charged with burglary and theft at a fraternity house where police said the materials came from.

Lt. Tina Strange, a deputy jailer at the detention center, did not know who the men’s attorneys were. She said they were each being held on $7,600 bond.

Monroe said the two men told detectives they decided to hang the effigy after seeing media reports about a Sarah Palin effigy in California.

Witnesses who saw the effigy Wednesday said it was life-sized with an Obama Halloween mask, a suit jacket and sweat pants. It was found hanging from a tree with a noose around its neck.

UK President Lee Todd said the effigy violates the university’s code of ethics, and Fischer faces punishment that could include expulsion.

“As outrageous and offensive an act as the effigy was, I truly believe it has mobilized our campus, the community and the state in an effort to battle racism,” Todd said Thursday.

It was the second time in about a month such an effigy was found on a college campus. George Fox University, a small Christian college in Oregon, recently punished four students who confessed to hanging a likeness of Obama from a tree.

Meanwhile, a Redondo Beach, Calif., woman removed a Halloween effigy of Barack Obama that was hanging from her balcony with a butcher knife in its neck. She took it down Thursday after neighbors complained.

In West Hollywood, Calif., a man removed an effigy of GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin from his yard Wednesday after several weeks of complaints.

And in Clarksville, Ind., a man had hanged an inflatable doll made to look like Obama from a tree. He took it down Wednesday, and authorities said it didn’t appear to violate any state laws.

L.A. blocks new fast-food outlets from poor areas

Posted by "Pat Buchanan, Jr." on July 29, 2008 at 06:22 PM

I wonder if they offer drive-thru service in the nanny state.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The Los Angeles City Council has approved a one-year moratorium on new fast-food restaurants in a low-income area of the city.

The moratorium unanimously approved Tuesday is a bid to attract restaurants that offer healthier food choices to residents in a 32-square-mile area of South Los Angeles.

Councilwoman Jan Perry says residents at five public meetings expressed concern with the proliferation of fast-food outlets in the community plagued by above-average rates of obesity.

Nearly three-quarters of the restaurants in South L.A. are fast-food outlets. That’s a higher percentage than other parts of the city but the restaurant industry says the moratorium won’t help bring in alternatives.

Ose Votes Against Religious Freedom - Happy Good Friday

Posted by Aaron Park on March 21, 2008 at 02:02 PM

If Ose had his way, I would not be able to tell you that today, Jesus Christ was crucified by the Romans.

Today was the key event in the foundation of the Christian Church – a few years ago, there was a key vote regarding religious freedom… A vote that 44 Republicans including Ose were on the wrong side of.

Ken Campbell takes it from here…

We have seen the stories of Canadian pastors and other Canadian citizens thrown into jail…. their crime, daring to speak of the Bible’s definition of marriage. See link here In Canada that is a “hate crime”. Here in the United States the IRS has clamped down on pastors and churches speaking up on Biblical issues of marriage and life. Some politicians tell us this is mixing church and state, and the church must be silenced. These PC police believe preaching from the Bible is a “hate crime”.

This has been going on for many years, so Congress sought to stop this infringement upon religious freedom by introducing HR 2357, see link:. This bill would restore the right of a tax-exempt religious organization to participate in politics, so long as such participation is not a “substantial part” of their work. Reminiscent of the old Soviet Union, former Sacramento Congressman Doug Ose voted to put a sock in your pastor’s mouth. Ose, along with Nancy Pelosi, Charles Rangel, Barney Frank, and the rest of the usual suspects voted against religious freedom, roll call vote 429. Northern CA’s Congress members John Doolittle, Wally Herger and Richard Pombo voted for freedom.

Every pastor, every person who attends a church and every person who loves freedom and liberty needs to understand Doug Ose wants to silence you. He wants to make sure you are politically correct. This is in sharp contrast to Tom McClintock who wants to remove Ose’s sock from your pastor and the church… letting a free people be free.

The Column the Ose people attempted to stop is running tomorrow...

Posted by Aaron Park on February 23, 2008 at 03:19 PM

According to Ken Campbell moments ago:

Reminiscent of the old Soviet Union who sent KGB to dispatch the opposition, Doug Ose sent spokesman Doug Elmets to the Auburn Journal to squelch opposition.

A column that simply laid out Ose’s voting record was to run last Sunday in the Journal. Even though Ose had no idea what was contained in the column, he sent Elmets to threaten the Journal.

The column was already on the page ready to print, but the Journal correctly pulled the column to verify the facts. This week the Journal researched the column and found it to be 100% factual. On Thursday, the Journal made the decision to run the column. Barring any other attempt to censor the press, the column should run this Sunday.

On Sunday morning log on to www.auburnjournal.com, go to guest column, to see what Ose doesn’t want you to see.

This should scare anyone who loves freedom; giving an ominous foreshadowing of the censorship of opposition and heavy-handedness of an Ose reign, should he be elected.

Red County Placer Blog Resorts to Censorship!?

Posted by Aaron Park on December 20, 2007 at 08:31 PM

Someone whose name I don’t know, who I have never met and who did not have the integrity to tell me himself deleted the Eric Hogue days of Christmas posts I had been putting on the Red County Placer Blog. (Same as those appearing here)

I was e-mailed, not called and at that by someone other than the individual who unilaterally deleted the posts.

The entire text of my protest post on the Red County Blog is copied here as I am expecting it to get deleted as well or buried:

Please visit the Placer CRA Blog for the Eric Hogue 12 days of Christmas in their entirety.

http://blog.placer-cra.org/

For reasons unknown to me, the Eric Hogue posts were deleted by someone I do not know and I was told by a third party after the fact.

I received the following E-mail from the campaign this afternoon at my office…

Aaron,

I work for the Eric Hogue Campaign. We noticed that each of your postings, referencing Mr. Hogue’s “12 Days of Christmas”, were removed from the Red County – Placer Blog. A simple question, why?

We send these out as press releases, even the Sacramento Bee has made notice of them. It’s concerning to learn that a Republican Blog Site would delete these press releases without reason.

Political speech is the most protected speech in America. I surely hope we are not conveying a message that the party of Ronald Reagan now supports political censorship?

Let us know what the reasons were for the removal of the posts, we’ll do whatever we can to make the ‘press releases’ workable for you, and the Red County Blog site.
