Breaking --- Placer County Republican Central Committee Endorses McClintock

Posted by Aaron Park on March 05, 2008 at 08:55 PM

By a vote of 19-5, the Placer County Republican Central Committee endorsed Senator Tom McClintock.

In keeping with its’ consistently Conservative values reflective of Placer County and the 4th Congressional District… The Placer County Republican Central Committee has weighed in.

This is a sign to look for other County Committees to follow suit and soon.

The CRA is meeting on March 15th and is expected to unanimously endorse Tom McClintcok as well.

Attempts by the local media and the Doug Ose campaign to press the residency issue apparently have been ineffective in affecting the Republican base of support for McClintock.

This also puts the Central Committee at odds with local electeds again - mainly over local taxation issues. McClintock is widely expected to be hostile to local bond measures, parcel taxes and federal earmarks. The Conservative base of the Central Committee is energized around a true fiscal conservative like Tom McClintock.

McClintock beat Charlie Brown by 36,000 votes in the 4th Congressional District in 2006.
