Ose starts out campaign with Precinct Walk - How successful was it, really?

Posted by Aaron Park on March 30, 2008 at 02:08 PM

Please note that Ose advertised for his walk and gave out free lunch.

According to well-placed sources, 100 people showed up including some on his endorsement list. Only 20 or so left to walk precincts.

It was obvious that this was a planned, staged event. When you go to the McClintock HQ, you can see that they are covering major parts of the area already. Ose had to respond, why is why they had to have the media event to give off the impression of campaign strength.

We do know that Ose is using paid precinct walkers – of the 20 walking, at least half were paid is the estimate.

As well, it looks like some more of John Doolittle’s staffers are joining team Ose – further evidence that JTD’s staff was as much of JTD’s problem as anything.

The Auburn Journal Article is linked here and note their glowing coverage of Ose’s campaign kickoff after not hardly bothering to cover McClintock’s.

Ose can not get traction in the Mountain areas of this district, so he is going to have to concentrate his fire on the flatlands. See also posts regarding McClintock in Modoc and Lassen Counties earlier.
