The Tale of Two Trips to Susanville, CA

Posted by Aaron Park on March 20, 2008 at 12:51 PM

A week ago a visit by “Conservative Republican” Doug Ose was met with about 8 people. Doug presumably talked about his Conservaitve values with those potential voters – I’d imagine however that Doug avoided mentioning his scorecards from the NRA and the GOA.

I would imagine that Doug’s appearance was more like his 1380 KTKZ radio interview where he proudly declared himself the most Conservative Republican in the 4th CD race: LINK

Yesterday However, when Tom McClintock arrived in Susanville for a meeting at the same restaurant – the Sage Hen Restaurant – so many people showed up that they had to shut the Restaurant down!

The standing room only crowd was a record turnout in Susanville for a gatehering. Considering Susanville is a town of about 13,000 people… getting 100+ in the same place is a big deal. The only other time you’d ever see that is at the high school football game.

This is another example of how $500,000 worth of ads trying to reinvent oneself is an excercise in futility.
