A study in the consequences of a Doug Ose GOP...

Posted by Aaron Park on March 02, 2008 at 10:07 AM

I have blogged in the past about the Moderates being in control of the SAC GOP committee and that Doug Ose’s support is complicit in that occurring.

When the type of Moderates control a Central Committee or a Republican organization that are there because they want to shut out Conservatives – it is an instant abortion of the Republican movement in that area. When Moderates control a committee and actually practice the big tent they always whine about when Conservatives are in control – things actually work pretty well. However, we have seen that the Doug Ose / MainStreet Partnership Moderate is the Rule not the exception. (Conservatives: take your Bibles and go home.)

Down the Central Valley of California – an area that was once rapidly growing Republican… publications like the Liberty Journal are highlighting the malaise that has set in. Democrats keep getting elected in those areas because the Republicans don’t vote and many are re-registering Decline.

The Republican Party leadership have been drinking the Arnold Kool-Aid and Nationally have all fallen behind the go along to get along strategy. Meanwhile, an aggressive and motivated socialist cadre are making gains.

In Montana and Colorado – those states have turned from Light Red to Purple as in recent years they have elected Democrats to the US Senate. So the trend is not localized to the Central Valley of California. Ohio and Nevada had Republican massacres because of Tax-Raising “Republican” Governors.

In Sacramento – the Ose backed central committee has been in a state of stasis after taking aggressive action to force the Conservatives out onto the sidelines. Rather than attempt any sort of conciliation – they pointed their finger at “bad behavior” by the Conservatives on the Sac GOP committee as an excuse to do nothing. So, even when the Mods take control – it is still Conservatives’ fault.

The attached article is a study in irony – one of the people responsible for the current make-up of the Sac GOP Committee is Dan Lungren. Lungren is regarded as a Conservative Congressman – but seems to prefer Liberals and Moderates at the local level. (See also those he endorses for office as in Ose over McClintock)

This article shows how Lungren’s own home district has hemmorrhaged registrations at such an alarming rate that if Lungren gets appointed Attorney General by McCain – it will be a dogfight for the GOP to maintain that district.

Also of note in the article is the aggressive voter registration by the Dems and non-existent voter registration by the GOP. ARTICLE

Sacramento county once delivered 49% of the vote for Bill Simon. If they aren’t careful, the only Sacramento community with a Republican congressman will be Orangevale.

What has been the current leadership’s greatest contribution to the effort? A possible violation of the by-laws of the Sacramento GOP in order to support a fellow liberal Republican’s campaign for congress. Apparently, going after Conservatives is indeed more important than registering Republicans to the current Sacramento GOP leadership.

I’m not too worried about Ose. He’s got Lungren on his side and Lungren fumbled the Governor’s race in 1998 which saddled us with Gray Davis. UGH! So maybe Lungren can give that same failed campaign advice to Ose so we can get Tom in office. We don’t need another gun grabber in Congress!
