Thompson on Life Support - SC is his last stand

Posted by Aaron Park on January 18, 2008 at 10:57 AM

I get Thompson’s Campaign E-Mails… they have said flat out that Thompson has drawn a line in the sand in South Carolina.

The good news here is that Thompson is unloading his aresnal in South Carolina – this screws McCain and Huckabee.

The bad news is that Rudy is opening fire in Florida – and he is the biggest beneficiary of the fact that everyone else has unloaded on Romney.

Somewhere McCain is being given therapy.

Of course the country would be the “chief beneficiary” of Thompson Presidency, so Ill continue to work toward that end.

I understand he doesn’t have the personal fortune that apparently factored so highly in some of the endorsements that Romney has received; but call me old fashioned going with the strong conservative candidate in the primary.

Dont worry, if Mitt is the nominee Ill be a good Republican and get on board. I just wish more Republicans had been good conservatives initially and backed a candidate who has never been ashamed of our core principles.

Nick – I can show you all kinds of attacks from the Left in New England that accused Romney of being a “Closet Conservative”

How about the fact that the NRA phone banked for Romney? Or how the abortion establishment attacked him frequently in editorials?

Unless Fred gets Gold or Silver in SC, he is done. He waited too damn long to get in the race… had he not done that, I’d have been with you and Pat Buchanon Jr. in supporting Fred. That is a true statement.

Aaron, you have got to display a little “full disclosure” here.

We’re talking about Massachusetts!

Of course the NRA phone banked for him, who was the alternative

Of course pro choice groups didn’t like him! Were talking about the land of Kerry and Kennedy!

Compared to the usual suspects in Massachusetts politics I’m sure Romney looked like Reagan, Burke and Goldwater wrapped into 1.

Aaron, backing Fred Thompson in the early primaries still would have afforded you an opportunity to support someone else by “super Tuesday”.

I think allot of good conservatives got scared into supporting Romney, and I have seen no evidence that would lead me to believe otherwise.

Pat Buchanan Jr.

Aaron, show me some proof the NRA phone banked for Mitt. That’s ridiculous. There’s no way. I talked to the NRA and they are not back him right now but as I posted previously, the only 2 GOP contenders running right now with a 100% rating from the NRA were Fred and Huck. Mitt wasn’t even on their radar. So the fact that they NRA hasn’t backed anyone and his NRA is poor at best, they aren’t supporting him.
